Default High class prostitution in Lebanon

We've always wondered what faces prostitution has in Lebanon, since we mostly know nothing about it.
I recently read an article about it in "Femme magazine". Seems like this phenomenon is expanding, reaching young women-aged between 18 and 28 years old- that seek it for extra pocket money. Politicians and businessmen, particularly arab ones, are the most popular clients.
Lebanese prostitution, says Daniele Gerges, flourishes in restaurants, coffee shops, expensive hotels, pubs, nightclubs and even via the mobile- basically in downtown Beyrouth. Callgirls don't hesitate to call men up, several times, to offer their services that vary between 500 and 1000 $.

This phenomena is on the increase and treated very casually by the said girls. The practice isn't to make ends meet but rather for more material gain i.e money to buy the latest cell phone or a flash car etc...

girls who enter this world find themselves at odds with the very 'squeaky clean' principles they've been raised with since birth and very often they eventually resort to alcohol or drugs and soemtimes even both just to be able to 'get away' from it.

I was once in downtown Beirut and a restaurant owner who had become a friend, complained that his restaurant is losing money because of the prostitutes who come to the restaurant and order a coffee while waiitng for clients for hours. I remember that summer well because as I walked around the area I could not help but feel nauseous at the sight of scantily clad prostitutes all over. It was unsightly and downright ugly. Beirut our magical city has become a whorehouse much to the pleasure of the rich perverted few and the mass suffering of the poor.

Sad...
