Who is the next president of the United States?
by AdminS

The clock is ticking. The United States of America are now a few steps away from ending a long and expensive campain, eight years of the Bush mandate...America now awaits for her new president and commander in chief. Obama or McCain?

Latest polls show that Barack Obama is leading John McCain by 11 points. The Democrat candidate cast his ballot in his home city Chicago, while the Republican candidate voted in Phoenix, Arizona. Reports show a high turnout in this US presidential election; more than 130 million people have voted already. The percentage of voting is at 80% in some states compared to 60% in 2004.

By this time of the year, in 2004, Georges W. Bush was planning on invading Irak and leading a successful war against terrorism. He will leave the White House by the end of 2008, facing the relief of some and nostalgia of others.

Will America elect, for the 1st time in history, an african-american president?

Most importantly, how does this presidential election affect Lebanon? Will the two countries maintain the same cooperation?

U.S ambassador, Michele Sisson, reiterated the devotion of her country to the Lebanese government in a press interview on monday November 3rd. She added that no matter who the next president is, Lebanon will remain a priority on the american agenda and that the U.S contributions to Lebanon have reached 4.7 million dollars in 2008.
